چکیده

There are very few reports of esophageal carcinoma producing granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). G-CSF-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma is an extremely aggressive carcinoma. Leukocyte counts, neutrophil counts, and serum C-reactive protein levels may be markers of its progression.

CASE REPORT Possible paracrine growth of adenocarcinoma of the stomach induced by granulocyte colony stimulating factor produced by squamous cell carcinoma of the oesophagus

Synchronous cancers of the oesophagus and stomach diagnosed in a patient showing pronounced leucocytosis were examined for production of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) and expression of G-CSF receptor. Whereas enzyme immunoassay of tissue extracts showed that the oesophageal carcinoma produced G-CSF, the gastric cancer did not. However, the gastric tumour showed G-CSF receptor ex...

Choroidal metastasis from granulocyte colony‐stimulating factor‐producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: a case report

Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is rare. Esophageal cancer is a highly aggressive disease and often spreads hematogenously; however, choroidal metastases are rarely seen. This report detailed an extremely rare case of G-CSF-producing ESCC with choroidal metastasis.

Radical esophagectomy for a 92-year-old woman with granulocyte colony-stimulating factor-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: a case report

BACKGROUND Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) has been considered to have a poor prognosis. We successfully treated a case of G-CSF-producing ESCC in a 92-year-old woman. CASE PRESENTATION A 92-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with the complaints of choking while swallowing and dysphagia. Esophagogastroduodenoscopy and ...

Granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: a report of 3 cases

Although different types of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-producing carcinomas have been reported, G-CSF-producing esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is extremely rare. The prognosis of G-CSF-producing esophageal cancer has generally been reported to be very poor. Here, we report three cases of G-CSF-producing SCC who were successfully treated by use of multimodal therapy.
